Where am I going?

When Jenine and I spent ten days together in the South of France, it turned out we had each brought the perfectly complimentry mix of art supplies. She brought wallpaper paste for papier mache, I brought masking tape. I brought one collection of paint colours, she brought different colours. It wasn’t planned. It just happened. We each dived into each others’ stash and enjoyed playing with something different. My most used colour of hers was that lovely rich yolky yellow.

When I use yellow, I generally use the palest lemon yellow. But suddenly I fell in love with this. Maybe it was just the right shade. And it surprised me by mixing with my pinks and blacks in a way that just pops. I’m thrilled with this. Sometimes I like best the things that I felt uncomfortable with at first, such as yolk yellow.

This trip was a time for me to shake things up, look at my life with perspective, and think about where I want to go with it.

It happens to all of us… that moment when we glance up and suddenly realise we aren’t sure where we’re going with our lives. It’s a moment to pause, reflect, take stock, and make a real choice about how we want to live. This painting is for anyone at a cross roads, anyone with a choice to make.
