This painting is about navigating life without a map. It’s about finding the courage to cast off the old and catch the wind as it blows, shaking off all that is stagnant. As the journey unfolds, we will breathe the air of a new place and an uncharted world will be revealed. Ultimately, what will emerge is… ourselves. Well, hopefully, anyway!
It’s painted on a piece of wood that was reclaimed from the hard rubbish, and plastered to give a really amazing texture, especially those raised circles in the ground area. I used my very favourite rubber stamps which I carved myself to put this image together.
I painted a whole bunch of these last Christmas and there is just one left. If you’d like it, it’s in my shop.
