What it means to be Deaf… an exhibition

It was overseas travel that sparked a thorough exploration of what it means to be Deaf, both for me personally, and when it comes to fitting into the world around me. For me, being Deaf just IS. It’s how things are. No big deal. The challenge lies with how I bridge the gap between me and the world, and how the world responds to my Deafness.

This is what prompted me to work with Irene Holub to create an exhibition about Deaf identity, assimilation and acceptance.

It’s at St Helier Street Gallery at Cam’s Cafe
Abbotsford Convent, 1 St Helier Street, Abbotsford

Please join us for drinks on opening night: Friday 2 Sept 6pm – that’s this Friday night!
Exhibition runs until 28th Sept.

If you know anyone interested in Deafness, would you be so kind as to share this with them? Or help spread the word by posting on your timeline? Thanks so much!
