Fishing Girl on Plaster

Fishing Girl on Plaster-1

Fishing Girl lives a simple, self-sufficient life, stripped down to the minimum. She eats what she can scavenge, lives in a simple hut on a cliff, overlooking the ocean, and fishes from a small raft she built herself. This painting is for anyone looking for the wabi sabi, to downsize, simplify, and pare back their life to the essence. It’s a protest against the busy, materialistic lives we find ourselves emeshed in, in the twenty-first century.

This painting is created using plaster and hessian on reclaimed wood. it is richly textured, subtly toned with colours of earth and sea. If you’d like it, it’s here in my shop.
